This short excursion introduces travelers to Vietnam's two key cities: Hanoi, the northern heart of Vietnamese culture and the bustling southern city of Saigon. Begin in Hanoi, where you will visit the late Ho Chi Minh's traditional teakwood house and the mausoleum where his body is interred. Also visit Hanoi's Temple of Literature - a testament to the Confucian history of the city. Meander through the Old Quarter, a warren of elegant colonial buildings now inhabited by a range of craftspeople, and visit the city's many impressive modern art galleries. You also spent a night on a luxury boat in beautiful Halong Bay. Cruise among the limestone islands while enjoying fresh seafood, swimming, visits to local islands, and activities on board.
Next, fly to Saigon for city touring. There, visit the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Post Office, War Remnants Museum, Ben Thanh market and the network of secret tunnels in Cu Chi that were used during the Vietnam War. Then spend the day cruising through narrow canals and floating markets in the Mekong Delta before you continue your tour to Siem Reap with its unique temple, Angkor Wat. This is simply a suggested itinerary and can easily be customized to suit your schedule, budget, and interests.

DAY 1: HANOI ARRIVAL
On arrival at Hanoi's Noi Bai International airport, you will be greeted by our guide and transferred to your hotel. In the late afternoon, you will visit the Lake of the Restored Sword, Ngoc Son Temple, and the Old Quarter, known for its 36 streets and former craft guilds. Enjoy a water puppet performance, a folk art tradition unique to northern Vietnam. Accommodation at hotel in Hanoi.
DAY 2: HANOI – HA LONG CRUISE (B/L/D)
7.30 – 8.00 Shuttle bus will pick you up at your hotel (driver pick up/without guide), and depart for the 3.5 hour drive that takes you through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta to Halong Bay, which has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Upon arriving in Halong, board a wooden junk are designed in time-honoured traditional style, with contemporary and luxurious cabins and facilities. Set sail on a join-in cruise through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Halong Bay, giving you the chance to take in the stunning scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage site. While on board, you will be served a sumptuous fresh seafood lunch. There will be opportunities to swim on a quiet beach or sunbathing on the sundeck and visit one of the most beautiful limestone grotto. When the sun sets, we will drop anchor for the night, near a remote island. This junk has a lovely dining room, bar, and private bedrooms with showers. Accommodation on board in Halong Bay.
DAY 3: HA LONG – HANOI (B)
Morning enjoy the sunrise breakfast with tea, coffee, milk, cake, etc. Sitting on the upper deck, you can relax while taking in the breath-taking beauty of the rocky islands rising from the emerald water of the bay. Cruises back to the dock while brunch is served while you are cruising through the bay, along the way seeing more of the fascinating formations. Boat arrive at harbor by noon for the drive back to your hotel in Hanoi by shuttle bus (driver pick up/without guide). Accommodation at hotel in Hanoi.
DAY 4: HANOI CITY TOUR – FLY TO HO CHI MINH (B/L)
The post-colonial capital city of Hanoi is a unique Asian city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, numerous lakes, pagodas and temples. This full day tour takes you around Hanoi's most interesting sights, including the Ho Chi Minh Complex, Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and his Stilt House, the Presidential Palace, the One Pillar Pagoda nearby. Also on the tour will be the the Temple of Literature, and one of the city's museums - the Ethnology Museum. Then you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh (Sugguested flight VN257 HAN – SGN 16.10 – 18.15), where you will be met and transferred to hotel for a three-night stay. DAY 5: HO CHI MINH CITY TOUR – CU CHI TUNNELS (B/L)
Also known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh city is Vietnam’s commercial capital and a city of extraordinary energy. After breakfast, travel to Cu Chi, 70 km to the Northwest of Ho Chi Minh. Cu Chi Tunnels consist of more than 200km of underground tunnels. This main axis system has many branches connecting to underground hideouts, shelters, and entrances to other tunnels. The network included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens. Today the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction giving the visitor a unique experience and a feel of what underground life during the U.S - Vietnam War. Return to Ho Chi Minh for lunch. In the afternoon, you will be taken on a city tour of Ho Chi Minh city (Saigon) including the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Post Office and bustling Ben Thanh Market. DAY 6: MEKONG DELTA EXCURSION (B/L)
The Mekong's Vietnamese name, Cuu Long, means Nine Dragons for the nine mouths that terminate the flow of this great river as it, is absorbed by the sea. After breakfast, a two hour drive to My Tho will expose you to the colorful outskirt life as well as picturesque rice fields along the journey. On arrival, take a boat trip on Mekong river that covers areas of My Tho fish-farm and four islands of Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle and Phoenix. Visit Phoenix island, explore Dua Religion relics and manufacture of handicraft made from coconut trees. Continue to Thoi Son island. On arrival, visit traditional rice paper and coconut candy factory, walking along the rural village for visiting local house, where you can enjoy taste of seasonal fresh fruits, honey tea with many kind of jams while enjoy Southern traditional music show “Don Ca Tai Tu” - the lovely and romantic melody of one of local artists in Mekong Dalta. Rowing on sampans along the canals of Mekong river covered with shady water coconut trees. Have lunch at local restaurant. Return to Ho Chi Minh later this afternoon. DAY 7: SAIGON – FLY TO SIEM REAP (B)
This morning, you will be transferred to Ho Chi Minh airport for your flight to Siem Reap (Sugguested flight VN3819 SGN – REP 08.20 – 09.40). Arrive Siem Reap, you will be met and transferred to hotel for a two-night stay. Accommodation at hotel in Siem Reap.
DAY 8: SIEM REAP – SPECIAL ANGKOR TOUR (B/D)
After breakfast, set out to explore the city of World Heritage. Begin at the Angkor Wat, unquestionably one of the wonders of the ancient world. Erected before 1150 AD, this temple-complex represents one of the most intricate and dramatic religious structures ever conceived by the human mind. Its bas-reliefs and friezes are an illustrated guide to Hindu mythology. There is still an active Buddhist monastery within the temple domain. Explore the stone galleries, terraces, and grounds until noon. In the afternoon, continue your touring of the ruins. Start at the South Gate of Angkor Thom, an ancient royal city that covers four square miles and is the pinnacle of the Khmer obsession with vast public works. Walk through looming gates, guarded by statues of gods and demons. At the center of Angkor Thom is the Temple of Bayon, a tremendous multi-towered temple with bas-reliefs depicting Hindu mythology. The central tower is covered with four gargantuan heads, depicting the king as a Bodhisattva, or Buddhist deity of compassion. This image is repeated throughout the Bayon, making it one of the most striking sites at Angkor. Continue by car past the Elephant and Leper King Terraces to Preah Khan, a remarkably preserved temple, and Ta Prohm, a temple that remains completely engulfed in vines and tree roots - this is arguably the most evocative of all Angkor's many temples. DAY 9: DEPART SIEM REAP (B)
There is no activity planned for today. Enjoy your free time for souvenir shopping or relax until transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
