This tour provides a thorough overview of the highlights of Angkor in a short time, and can easily be combined with trips to other destinations in Southeast Asia. The touring begins with an afternoon visit to Angkor Wat, unquestionably one of the wonders of the ancient world. Erected before 1150 AD, this temple-complex is one of the most intricate and dramatic religious structures ever built by man. In the evening, attend a traditional Cambodian dance performance.
The following day, visit Angkor Thom and the Temple of Bayon, a tremendous multi-towered temple covered with gargantuan heads depicting the king as a Bodhisattva (a Buddhist deity of compassion). Continue to Ta Prohm, many travelers' favorite temple. Vines and trees have been allowed to grow over the temple complex, and the combination of wild jungle and beautiful stone temples creates a dreamlike effect that will leave a lasting impression. In the afternoon, tour Banteay Srei, considered by many to be the jewel in Angkor's crown.
The next morning, enjoy a scenic cruise on the Lake Tonle Sap, inhabited by dozens of floating villages, and Artisans d'Angkor before transferring to the airport for your departure flight.

Day 1: Arrive Siem Reap (D)
Siem Reap, the small town closest to the majestic Angkor Wat, once the cradle of a highly complex civilization that controlled the greater part of Southeast Asia for four centuries.
Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel for a two night stay. This afternoon, depart with your guide for Angkor Wat, unquestionably one of the wonders of the ancient world. Erected before 1150 AD, this temple-complex represents one of the most intricate and dramatic religious structures ever conceived by the human mind. Its bas-reliefs and friezes are an illustrated guide to Hindu mythology. There is still an active Buddhist monastery within the temple domain. Explore the stone galleries, terraces, and grounds until dusk. Dinner with dance Apsaras show at local restaurant. Overnight in Seam Reap.
Day 2: Siem Reap (B/L/-)
This morning continue your touring of the ruins. Begin at the South Gate of Angkor Thom, an ancient royal city that covers four square miles and is the pinnacle of the Khmer obsession with vast public works. Walk through looming gates, guarded by statues of gods and demons. At the center of Angkor Thom is the Temple of Bayon, a tremendous multi-towered temple with bas-reliefs depicting Hindu mythology. The central tower is covered with four gargantuan heads, depicting the king as a Bodhisattva, or Buddhist deity of compassion. This image is repeated throughout the Bayon, making it one of the most striking sites at Angkor. Continue by car past the Elephant and Leper King Terraces to Preah Khan, a remarkably preserved temple, and Ta Prohm, a temple that remains completely engulfed in vines and tree roots - this is arguably the most evocative of all Angkor's many temples. Lunch at local restaurant. Spend the afternoon to visit Banteay Srei, constructed at the late 10th century by a Brahmin counselor under a powerking Rajendarvarman. It was loosely translated to citadel of the woman, but it is a modern appellation that probably refers to the delicate beauty of the carvings. Along the way we make stopover at the Preah Dark village and we follow these with a visit the Banteay Samre Temple adorned with impressive relief’s depicting scenes of Vishunu as well as Krishna legends. Overnight in Seam Reap.
Day 3: Depart Siem Reap (B)
Begin the day with a drive to Chong Kneas to visit the fishing village by a private boat. Cruise through the fishing villages of the Tonle Sap Lake to discover the natural splendor and old lifestyle of the country. If time permits, we will also visit the local market and artisan d’Angkor workshop. Free at leisure till transfer to Siem Reap International airport for flight to the next destination.
