This 6 Day North-East Tour to Ha Giang and Northeast is one of our most favorite Northern Vietnam tours. It does not only offer the amazing view of Global Rock Plateau in Dong Van, Ha Giang, beautiful Ban Gioc waterfall, natural lake of Ba Be but also gives plenty of chances to visit and discover the colorful culture of the local hill tribes who have the hard life but always are happy and proud of their culture and homeland. In every October and November, Tam Giac Mach flowers bloom on the winding and sloping paths, in the fields valleys and even on hill sides up in the East and Northern West.

Day 1: Hanoi – Ha Giang (L/D)
You will be met up with Ha Long Tour & Service team at your hotel in Hanoi. Drive to Ha Giang, a province in the far north of Vietnam. Your route will take you through mountainous landscape and striking scenery. Upon arrival at Tuyen Quang, you’ll visit the 15th century Mac Dynasty Citade. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will head towards a small town in Ha Giang to spend the night. You’ll arrive and check in with time to or wander to the peaceful villages nearby. Overnight in Ha Giang
Day 2: Ha Giang – Dong Van (B/L/D)
After breakfast, we will drive from Ha Giang to Quan Ba Heaven Gate, where you can stop for great pictures of the impressive twin mountains. You will go on to Yen Minh, with spectacular scenery along the way, followed by a drive to Pho Bang, located right on the border between Vietnam and China. After lunch in Pho Bang, you will visit the impressive house of Mong King, Lung Cu flag tower before driving to Dong Van, where you will see the most unique stone plateau in the world. In the afternoon you can take a walk to the old street of Dong Van, where you still can find hundred year old houses made from clay, with hospitable local people still living there. You will stay overnight in Dong Van.
Day 3: Dong Van – Meo Vac – Cao Bang (B/L/D)
After breakfast, a scenic route will take you to the Ma Pi Leng Pass from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Nho Que River. Continue our drive towards Cao Bang, you will pass by and through many valleys, mountains, villages and waterfalls. The journey is an adventure in itself, and you will be rewarded with wonderful and sensational landscapes. You will arrive in Cao Bang in the late evening and stay overnight.
Day 4: Cao Bang - Ban Gioc Waterfall - Cao Bang (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you’ll visit the Ban Gioc Waterfall on the China-Vietnam border, 85km from Cao Bang. Ban Gioc is one of the largest and possibly the most impressive waterfall in Vietnam. You can swim in the cool waters below the falls or simply enjoy the pleasant surroundings and views across to China on the opposite side of the river. In the afternoon, you’ll visit Nguom Ngao, one of the largest caves in the area. It has many fascinating shapes and stalactite formations. You’ll then spend the night in Cao Bang.
Day 5: Cao Bang – Pac Bo Grotte – Ba Be Lake (B/L/D)
This morning you will visit Pac Bo Grotto. This is where Ho Chi Minh returned in February 1941, after 30 years of living abroad, and in search of a way to liberate the country. The scenery along the way is beautiful, with great green rice fields and local water wheels everywhere. You will return to Cao Bang town, and then drive to Ba Be. The roads are very bumpy and zigzagging, but the spectacular mountainous landscapes with undulating terraced rice fields and hill villages make our hardship all worthwhile! Upon arrival, you will experience a home stay in a house on stilts.
Day 6: Ba Be Lake - Hanoi (B/L)
In the morning, you will enjoy a tranquil boat trip to Ba Be Lake, exploring the unspoiled tropical national park, with a stop to visit Puong Limestone Grotto and Dau Dang Waterfall. After having lunch in a simple restaurant near Dau Dang Waterfall, then you will drive back to Hanoi. End of service.

NOTE:
+ All homestay is simple. These are wooden stilt houses. Guests share the house with family. They sleep on the bamboo or wooden large floor with private bedding setup and a fan only (No air-condition). The shared bathroom is located outside the house. There is a shower with hot water.
+ All standard hotel in the mountain area serve simple breakfast (There is no buffet breakfast)
+ Some days in the mountainous area have a long time drive (6-8 hours). This tour suit to travelers who like nature, treking, adventure and have a reasonable level of fitness.
