Tucked high in Vietnam's remote northern mountains, close to the Chinese border, the former French military outpost of Sapa offers some of Vietnam's most colourful experiences. The views are breathtaking. Vietnam's highest peak, the 3,143-metre Mount Fansipan, looms overhead, while the surrounding valleys feature terraced rice paddies and blazing green fields cut by fast-flowing streams. Layer upon layer of green ridges fade into the distance, edged by sharp, rocky peaks. The region is home to several ethnic minority groups all wearing their traditional and colourful attire. You can get there either by overnight train or car from Hanoi.
 
Day 1: Arrive Hanoi (D)

On arrival at Hanoi's Noi Bai International airport, you will be greeted by our guide and transferred to hotel for check-in. Dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation in Hanoi.
 
Day 2: Hanoi City Tour – Night train to Lao Cai (B/L/D)

After breakfast, visit Ho Chi Minh mausoleum (Close on Monday, Friday & from 5h Sep to 5th Nov for maintenance), Ho Chi Minh house on stilts, One Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature (The 1st University of Vietnam). After lunch, visit peaceful West Lake with lovers' street Thanh Nien, the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda, Hoan Kiem lake and Ngoc Son temple. Enjoy the water puppet show, which is the number one Vietnamese folk song and Vietnamese cultural show. Dinner at local restaurant and then take shower at mini hotel before transfering to Hanoi Railway Station for an overnight train to Lao Cai. Overnight on train in a superior 4-berth compartment sharing with other passengers.

Day 3: Lao Cai - Sapa – Cat Cat Village – Bac Waterfall (B/L/D)
 
The train arrives at the Lao Cai train station at approximately 6:00am, you will be transferred to Sapa. After breakfast at local restaurant, taka a walking tour to the hill tribe villages of Cat Cat, home to the H'mong ethnic minority peoples. You will have the opportunity to see the villagers working on the paddy fields and their animals, such as: chickens, water-buffaloes and pot-bellied pigs. You can also see the old hydro-electric power station which was built by the French time in the early 20th Century, and a beautiful waterfall that is a good place for resting and taking pictures.
 
After lunch, you will be transferred uphil to visit the famous Bac Waterfall and then onto Tram Ton, the highest mountain pass in Vietnam at 1,800 m above sea level for enjoying the magnificence of Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range as well as over viewing spectacular landscapes of the whole area, stretching endlessly. Dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation in Sapa
 
Day 4: Sapa – Ham Rong Mountain – Night train to Hanoi (B/L/D)
 
After breakfast at hotel, you climb up to Ham Rong Mountain, which gives you a great panoramic view over Sapa and its surrounding areas, visit the orchid gardens with beautiful and colorful flowers, enjoy ethnic traditional show by local ethnic boys and girls. After lunch, back to Lao Cai, stop at Vietnam - China border gate for taking photo. Dinner at local restaurant. Board on night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on train in a superior 4-berth compartment sharing with other passengers.

After breakfast in hotel, driver & tour guide take you to Cable Car Station and spend 20 minutes with cable car to enjoy the spectacular scenery. Reach the altitude of 2800 meters, you have a good time to see the view and take photos, visit pagoda the spiritual destinations and trek up to 600 steps you will reach the peak of Fansipan - the Roof of Indochina. (Spend about 1.5 hours for hiking and taking photos). Come back to Cable Car Station and return to Sapa town. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, back to Lao Cai, stop at Vietnam - China border gate for taking photo. Dinner at local restaurant. Board on night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on train in a superior 4-berth compartment sharing with other passengers.

 
Day 5: Hanoi Departure (B)
Upon arrival Hanoi, transfer to mini hotel for freshen up. After breakfast, free leisure until time transfer to airport for departure flight.
